Issue: The sublimation design or colored PNG design I uploaded to Cricut Design Space is black
Resolution:
To ensure the best results when uploading a raster image, such as a PNG or JPG file, intended for printing, please select the "Print and Cut" option instead of the "Cut Image" option during the upload process. By choosing the "Print and Cut" option, your design will be accurately reproduced, as opposed to being converted into a simple black outline.
If you've encountered a situation where the colored design you've uploaded to Cricut Design Space appears as black and you're seeking a solution, please follow these steps to address the issue:
1. Upload and Select the Image:
Begin by navigating to Cricut Design Space. On the left side of your canvas page, click the "Upload" button and select "Upload Image."
2. Choose Image Complexity:
After selecting your image file, a new page will appear, allowing you to choose the complexity of your design. Carefully read the descriptions provided for each complexity level, ranging from "Simple" to "Complex." Select the option that best matches your design and click "Continue."
3. Clean Up the Image:
On the cleanup page, you can use various tools in the upper left-hand corner to refine your design. These tools include the remover, erase, and crop tools. Use these tools as needed to clean up your image and remove any unwanted elements. Once satisfied with the cleanup, click "Continue."
4. Finalize and Upload as Print then Cut:
On the final page, it's crucial to select the "Print then Cut" image type. This choice is essential to preserve the colors in your design. Additionally, provide a descriptive title for your image; this will help you locate it easily in the future. Finally, click the "Upload" button located in the lower right-hand corner to complete the upload process.
5. Adjust the Image in Canvas:
Now that you've successfully uploaded your image as a "Print then Cut" image, you can add it to your Canvas within Cricut Design Space. From there, you can further adjust the image as desired, including resizing, positioning, and other customizations.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of your colored design appearing as black in Cricut Design Space.
