Preinstalled Fonts


Procreate offers a variety of fonts right out of the box, enabling you to dive into your creative projects without delay.



Procreate Fonts


Procreate provides four default fonts to enrich your creations:

  1. Eina: A clean, neutral sans-serif font, perfect for clear and straightforward designs.
  2. ImpactA bold font, ideal for attention-grabbing headers and signage.
  3. Jack Armstrong BB: A playful, comic-inspired font designed for a more casual and fun look.
  4. Smiley Sans: A versatile and robust condensed typeface suitable for both English and Simplified Chinese characters.



iOS System Fonts


Procreate grants you access to all the fonts available on your iPad, opening up a world of typographic possibilities. Your iPad comes with an extensive selection of nearly a hundred built-in fonts, ranging from playful to professional, including cursive, capitalized, handwritten, and type-based fonts.



Browsing Fonts


To explore the fonts at your disposal, follow these steps:

  1. Add text to your document.
  2. Access the Edit Text panel.
  3. Scroll through the Font list, which is organized alphabetically.
  4. Each font's name is accompanied by a preview, allowing you to visualize its appearance.


Alternatively, you can tap on any font in the list to apply it to your selected text, making it easier to find the perfect font for your project.



Importing Fonts


Procreate offers multiple methods for importing your own fonts into the application. You can import fonts through Procreate's interface, utilize AirDrop, employ the Files App, or simply drag and drop your preferred fonts. Procreate supports TTC, TTF, and OTF font files.



Importing via the Edit Text Interface:

  1. Tap on "Actions" > "Add" > "Add Text" within Procreate.
  2. After customizing your text, tap on "Edit Style" > "Import Font."
  3. Browse through the Files app to locate the folder containing your font.
  4. Select your font to import it, and it will become accessible in Procreate's Fonts list.


Drag and Drop:

  1. Open the iOS Files app in Split View.
  2. Navigate to your fonts folder.
  3. Drag and drop your chosen font from Files directly into Procreate.
  4. The imported font will appear in the Fonts list in Procreate.


Using the Files App:

  1. Download your desired font to the Files app.
  2. Open the iOS Files app and find your fonts folder.
  3. Tap and hold the font file.
  4. Simultaneously, tap "On My iPad" > "Procreate" > "Fonts," the location where Procreate stores imported fonts.
  5. Drop your font into this folder to install it.



AirDrop:

  1. Ensure that AirDrop is enabled on both your computer and iPad.
  2. In Finder on your computer, locate your font files.
  3. Select one or more font files.
  4. Control-click on the selected files and choose "Share" > "AirDrop."
  5. Select your iPad from the list.
  6. A popup window will prompt you to select where to open the file; choose "Procreate."
  7. Your font file will instantly appear in the Font section of the Edit Text interface, ready for use.


Pro Tip: To remove fonts from Procreate, delete them from the Fonts folder within the Procreate section of the iOS Files app.
