How to Change a 72dpi Image to 300dpi

If you’ve downloaded a 72 dpi image, such as from Illustrate AI, and need to convert it to 300 dpi, you can easily upscale the image using various methods. Upscaling programs are available online, but another option is to use editing software like Adobe Photoshop.

For our Unlimited and Pro Plus Members, we provide access to our design tool, DesignScape, which functions similarly to Adobe Photoshop. Below are step-by-step instructions to change the image size in DesignScape.

Steps to Change an Image to 300 DPI in DesignScape:

1. Open the Image:

   - Launch DesignScape and open your image by clicking File, choosing Open then navigating to your image on your device, or dragging the image into the workspace.

2. Resize the Image:

   - In the top menu, click on Image, and then select Image Size from the dropdown.

3. Adjust the DPI:

   - A window will appear where you can edit the image properties.

   - Look for the DPI (Resolution) field and change the value to 300 DPI.

   - Ensure that the Resample option is checked, which allows you to maintain image quality when changing the resolution.

4. Confirm the Changes:

   - Once you’ve entered 300 DPI, click OK to apply the changes.

5. Export the Image:

   - After resizing, you can save your image by selecting File > Export As. Choose your desired file format (JPEG, PNG, etc.).

That’s it! Your image is now successfully converted to 300 DPI and ready for printing or high-resolution display.

Additional Tip:

For best results, ensure that your image dimensions are appropriate for the higher resolution to avoid pixelation when printed or displayed.
