How to Upload and Use Font in Canva?

You can Upload custom fonts into your Brand Kit inside canva easily.


Who is eligible to upload fonts?

  • Team owners, administrators, and brand designers
  • Users of Canva Pro, Canva Teams etc. 

What to Expect:

Canva is compatible with OTF, TTF, and WOFF file formats. 

  • You have the ability to upload up to 500 fonts per Brand Kit.

Guide to Uploading Fonts:

  • From the homepage side panel, select Brand.
  • Click on the Brand Kit tab. If you manage multiple Brand Kits, choose one to modify.
  • Under Brand fonts, opt to Upload a font.
  • Navigate to Fonts, select Add new, then Upload a font.
  • Complete the upload process.

Using Your Uploaded Fonts:

Once your fonts are uploaded, they are available for use just like any other font from the Canva library.


  • Click on a text box within your design.
  • Access the Font dropdown from the toolbar above the editor.
  • Your uploaded fonts will be listed under Uploaded Fonts—you might need to scroll down to find them.

    Please note:
  • OTF is generally more versatile and offers more advanced features than TTF. While Canva supports both formats, sometimes one might work better than the other, depending on the specific font file. If any of font format gives an error, Please try another font format like WOFF, TTF or OTF.
