There are two ways you can open a file. The first way is dragging and dropping from your computer into the DesignScape window, and the second way is using the Open command.
Method 1 - Drag and Drop
Step 1 - Open Folder Location with File
In Finder/Windows Explorer, open the folder containing the file.
Step 2 - Drag File Into DesignScape Window
Drag and drop the file into the DesignScape window. This will automatically load the action, file, font, etc.

When there aren’t any previous windows open in DesignScape, dropping the file will create a new window.

If you already have a project started, dragging and dropping will load the file into the current project window and create a new layer.

Save/Export Files in DesignScape
Save as a PSD
If you need to come back to the document and alter the layers, save the project as a PSD file to preserve the layers. You can do this by going to File > Save as PSD.

Export a File
To export a file, click on File > Export as and choose your file type. Hover over More for even more file type options. If you do not need the layers, you can export the project as a PNG, JPG, PDF, etc.

If your design needs to be a transparent PNG, you will need to turn off the Background layer first before exporting. Click the eye icon of the Background layer to hide the background. You can tell the background is transparent if it has a checkerboard pattern, as shown in the following image.
